Samara Weaving is about to add a new role to her repertoire: motherhood.
Just before the release of her new horror movie, Ready or Not 2: Here I Come, the 33-year-old actress shared the exciting news that she and her husband, filmmaker Jimmy Warden, are expecting their first child. The couple first crossed paths on the set of the 2017 horror film The Babysitter, where Weaving played the sinister lead, Bee, who involves her babysitting charges in a diabolical cult. Warden not only acted in the film but also contributed as a writer, and he went on to pen the movie’s sequel, The Babysitter: Killer Queen. He gained further recognition with the 2023 hit Cocaine Bear.
Weaving has established herself as a modern "scream queen" with prominent roles in several horror films such as Scream VI, Ready or Not, and Azrael, as well as her recurring part in the series Ash vs. Evil Dead. Beyond the horror genre, she has demonstrated her versatility in more dramatic projects like Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri and Babylon.
The pair tied the knot in 2020, although their wedding plans were scaled back due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In a playful nod to her upcoming film, Weaving announced her pregnancy by posting pictures of her baby bump on social media with the caption “Ready or Not: Here I Come,” accompanied by a winking emoji.
Ready or Not 2: Here I Come, set to premiere on April 10, 2026, is a follow-up to the earlier film in which Weaving’s character marries into a wealthy family of board game magnates who are bound by a pact with the devil to engage in a lethal game of hide-and-seek with any new family member as a condition of their fortune and influence. The sequel will see Weaving’s character confronting the surviving members of these affluent circles who are still intent on her demise.
