Sacha Baron Cohen and Isla Fisher Divorce: Over a Year Since Split, It’s Official!

By Emily Anderson

Sacha Baron Cohen and Isla Fisher have concluded their protracted and contentious divorce proceedings, which lasted over a year.

In April 2024, the actor known for Borat and the Wedding Crashers actress declared their decision to part ways after a 13-year-long marriage. Fisher’s public remarks earlier in the year reportedly incited anger in Cohen as of February.

The couple has now settled their divorce, which involved assets totaling $75 million.

“We have finalized our divorce. We take pride in the achievements we have made together and maintain immense respect for one another. We will continue to be friends and dedicated co-parents to our amazing children. We kindly ask the media to respect the privacy of our children,” read a joint statement posted on both Cohen and Fisher’s Instagram stories.

The pair shares three children.

Initially, their breakup announcement hinted at a light-hearted tone, suggesting their marriage was akin to “a lengthy tennis match lasting over two decades” and stating “we are now setting our racquets aside.” However, the divorce proceedings soon took a turn for the worse.

A particularly striking incident occurred in Rebel Wilson’s autobiography Rebel Rising, where she dedicated a chapter to describing Cohen as a “massive a–hole” from their time working together. In response, Fisher engaged in a public interview discussing the support she received from her female friends during the divorce, which Cohen perceived as an affront and a validation of Wilson’s criticisms.

In an interview with The Sunday Times in February, Fisher expressed that the dissolution of their marriage was “the toughest ordeal I have faced,” revealing it taught her a great deal about herself.

“It was never my intention to have a divided family, but we remain devoted and loving parents,” she stated.
