John Stamos Expresses Unwavering Support for Lori Loughlin Amid Her Marital Split
John Stamos has openly criticized Mossimo Giannulli, the soon-to-be ex-husband of his former Full House co-star Lori Loughlin, labeling him a “narcissist.”
The news of Loughlin’s split from Giannulli after almost three decades together has prompted Stamos to publicly declare his ongoing support for Loughlin. The two have shared a long-standing friendship, stemming from their years as co-stars on the beloved television show.
Speaking candidly on the Good Guys podcast episode that aired Monday, Stamos did not shy away from sharing his sentiments about the situation. He praised Loughlin as a “saint” and shared his dismay at the challenges she is facing during her separation from the fashion designer, who is also 62.
Stamos expressed deep sympathy for Loughlin, stating, “I’m just heartbroken for her right now,” highlighting how devastated she is by the ordeal. “For someone who has always conducted herself with such grace, who has been a wonderful mother and wife, it’s heartbreaking to see her family situation disintegrate like this. I really hate seeing her suffer through these trials,” he added.
The actor also mentioned his efforts to support Loughlin throughout this turbulent period, including during the high-profile college admissions scandal. In this incident, both Loughlin and Giannulli admitted guilt to charges of wire and mail fraud in May 2020. They were accused of paying $500,000 in bribes to secure their daughters’ admissions to the University of Southern California under false athletic credentials. Loughlin served two months in federal prison, while Giannulli was sentenced to five months.
Reflecting on Loughlin’s relationship with Giannulli, Stamos noted, “I told her, ‘All the negativity and hardships you’ve faced seem linked to this man,’” indicating how deeply Giannulli’s actions have impacted her. “She endured a lot over the years with him. I’ve been close to her through much of it and can attest to the fact that she is truly an angel. She always tried to mend things. Despite everything, he has been a successful individual,” Stamos remarked.
Regarding his personal views on Giannulli, Stamos made it clear, “I will never speak to him again. He’s a terrible narcissist, and it’s hard to change that without a real desire to do so,” he said. Stamos added, “I hope he finds a way to fill whatever void he’s attempting to fill and realizes the value of what he had. I think he really needs help.”
Throughout the conversation, Stamos’ loyalty to Loughlin was evident as he navigated through his feelings about the end of her long marriage and the personal trials she has faced with strength and grace.
