Renowned British actor John Woodvine has passed away at the age of 96.

According to his agent, Phil Belfield, Woodvine died “peacefully” in his home on Monday morning.

In a heartfelt statement, Belfield praised Woodvine’s remarkable talents and successful career across various facets of the performing arts. “John was an extraordinary actor and enjoyed a rich, diverse career. He was deeply respected and will be greatly missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing and working with him. His legacy enriches us all,” Belfield expressed.

Woodvine’s extensive theatrical career spanned numerous prestigious stages in Britain, including the Old Vic, the National Theatre, and the Royal Shakespeare Company. He shared the stage with other notable actors such as Judi Dench and Ian McKellen in over 70 productions.
