Brazilian voice actor and performer Tony Germano, recognized for his contributions to Netflix and Nickelodeon, has passed away following a tragic accident at his residence. He was 55 years old.
Germano lost his life on Wednesday at his home in São Paulo, where he accidentally fell from the rooftop during some ongoing renovations, as reported by the local news source O Estado de Sao Paulo and TMZ.
“We are profoundly saddened to announce the death of Tony Germano, who died on the morning of Wednesday, Nov. 26, due to a fall at his home. Sadly, he succumbed to his injuries,” stated Germano’s representative to PEOPLE. The statement added, “During this difficult period, we request privacy and understanding for his grieving family, friends, and colleagues. Tony leaves behind a legacy filled with passion, kindness, and extraordinary talent that has inspired all who had the chance to collaborate with him. He will be greatly missed.”
Germano was celebrated for his Portuguese voice roles in notable projects such as Nickelodeon’s Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn and Netflix’s Go, Dog. Go!. He also contributed to the 2017 soundtrack of Disney’s live-action Beauty and the Beast and lent his voice to characters in Elena of Avalor and The Muppets.
