A recent event featuring a star from RuPaul’s Drag Race took an unexpected turn when she was proposed to by her longtime boyfriend during her performance.
Dressed in her drag avatar, Bosco was performing at The Crocodile in Seattle, Washington, when her partner of six years joined her on stage and asked for her hand in marriage, leaving the audience in awe.
Bosco took to Instagram to share her excitement, posting, “Love you forever, Blake,” along with images showcasing her sparkling new engagement ring, photos with her fiancé, and pictures featuring her Drag Race co-star, Irene the Alien.
Blake also took to his Instagram Story to celebrate the engagement, expressing his joy with the words, “Get to spend forever with my best friend.”
On social media, clips circulated showing the moment Blake proposed live on stage, capturing the hearts of many.
During the proposal, Blake recounted their history together, “Our story started six years ago at a queer bar, with me as a shy boy off to the side of the stage. We both looked very different back then. We’ve been through a lot, including my awkward attempt when you asked me to be your boyfriend.
He continued, reflecting on their journey together against a backdrop of a slideshow displaying moments from their relationship. “Then came me finishing college, the pandemic, the loss of my mom, and your stint on reality TV. Through all these challenges, I found the best friend and partner anyone could ask for. It feels right to ask you tonight to spend the rest of our lives together.”
Bosco, a transgender woman and drag performer whose real name is Blair Constantino, is celebrated as one of the standout queens from recent Drag Race seasons. She chose the stage name Bosco in a humorous homage to her deceased pet dog, commenting that “he’s not using it anymore; he’s dead, so now it’s mine.”
She first graced the Drag Race stage in Season 14 of the popular reality series in 2022, securing a third-place finish. Bosco returned to compete in the latest season of Drag Race All-Stars earlier this year, where she once again finished in third place.
