Floyd Roger Myers Jr., a former child star, has passed away at the age of 42.
Myers, who is remembered for his role as a young Will Smith in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, died from a heart attack early Wednesday morning at his residence in Maryland.
His mother, Renee Trice, shared with TMZ that this was the third heart attack he had experienced over the past three years. She mentioned that they had a conversation just the night before his passing.
Myers began his acting career portraying a young Will Smith in a third-season episode of Fresh Prince which was broadcast in 1992. He also played a young Marlon Jackson in the television biopic The Jacksons: An American Dream, and appeared in the 2000 series Young Americans on The WB.
A GoFundMe page has been initiated by his sister to help with the costs of his funeral. Myers is survived by his four children.
On Facebook, his mother Renee posted a heartfelt tribute featuring a photo of him with his children, captioned “THIS NOT SUPPOSE TO BE SO” and included a link to the GoFundMe page.
The GoFundMe page states: “Roger leaves behind his four wonderful children—Taelyn, Kinsley, Tyler, and Knox. Our family is now grappling with the profound grief of losing someone who was our everything,” it reads.
