Former ‘The View’ Star Teases Potential Move to ‘RHOBH’ Following Beauvais’ Departure

Could former The View co-host Debbie Matenopoulos be the newest addition to The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills?

After Garcelle Beauvais announced her departure from the Bravo series last month, Matenopoulos revealed that she has been in discussions with the network about potentially joining RHOBH.

During a recent interview on SiriusXM’s Page Six Radio, Matenopoulos, aged 50, openly admitted, “I’m not sure if I’m supposed to mention this yet, but yes, I am in talks with [Bravo].”

“And by ‘in talks’, I mean very recently,” she added, noting that these conversations occurred just last week. Known for her open nature, Matenopoulos humorously pondered, “I tend to share a lot, so do I really want to expose my home life to everyone?”

Matenopoulos, who began her television career as one of the first panelists on The View, shared, “Would I join the show? It sounds like a lot of fun, and I already know several of the women.” She reflected on her discussions with the RHOBH producers, saying, “I told them, ‘Look, I’m not one for conflict. I prefer to be straightforward and honest, but always in a kind way.’”

She further clarified, “If they are expecting dramatic scenes like table flipping, they might want to consider someone else because that’s not me.”

These revelations come shortly after Beauvais announced her exit from RHOBH following five seasons. “I have some news: I am leaving Beverly Hills,” she disclosed on Instagram. “It’s been a mix of great moments and tough challenges — but always an adventure.”

Beauvais expressed her desire to dedicate more time to her sons and other professional projects. However, she hinted at a possible return, quoting Andy Cohen, “I can always come back. The door is always open.”

The conclusion of Season 14’s reunion episode further highlighted why Beauvais chose to depart, as she opted out of a final cast photo and exited the set.

“I’m not doing this anymore. I don’t want the cameras around,” she declared during the episode. “I’m usually cooperative, but not this time — there’s no teamwork here.” Beauvais voiced her frustration with the season, saying, “Everyone was against me, leaving me isolated. I can’t trust or be friends with such people.”

As she left, Beauvais concluded, “It’s been a wonderful journey, and I’m thankful for the experience, but this is where it ends for me.”
