Billy Ray Cyrus’ son, Trace Cyrus, recently expressed his displeasure with his father through a series of critical posts on social media.
Trace Cyrus, aged 36, took to Instagram to voice his frustrations about his father, the famous singer of “Achy Breaky Heart.” In one of his posts, Trace lambasted his father’s actions, particularly criticizing Billy Ray for attending a fashion event in Italy while failing to show up for a significant family event in Los Angeles. “This man is so hungry for fame it’s pathetic,” Trace wrote. He revealed that despite being provided with a private jet costing $60,000 by his sister, which was a demand from Billy Ray himself, he still did not attend the funeral of their grandmother, Loretta Finley, also known as Mammie.
Trace’s mother, Tish Cyrus, has also been in the spotlight as the mother to other well-known children including pop star Miley Cyrus, and siblings Brandi, 38, Braison, 31, and Noah, 25. The family dynamics have been more public following Tish and Billy Ray’s very public divorce two years after the death of Loretta in 2020. Both Tish and Billy Ray have remarried, with Tish now being with Dominic Purcell of “Prison Break” fame, and Billy Ray having a brief marriage with singer Firerose after the divorce.
In a particularly scathing continuation of the post, Trace expressed his disappointment in his father, stating, “You’re the lamest man to ever walk planet earth. Honestly embarrassed to ever have considered you my idol,” and concluded with a call for his father to reconnect with his faith, emphasizing, “Christ is King. Get right with God. You need it.”
Trace also shared his thoughts on his father’s appearance in a follow-up story on his Instagram, questioning Billy Ray’s choice of hairstyle and calling it “homeless” and “weird.”
This recent outburst is not the first time Trace has publicly addressed his father’s behavior. Earlier in January, he penned an open letter to Billy Ray, pointing out his unhealthy condition and claiming it was becoming noticeable to everyone around.
These posts highlight ongoing tension within the Cyrus family, exposing personal grievances and strained relationships that have captured public attention. Billy Ray Cyrus has not yet responded to these allegations publicly.
