By Benjamin Harrison

Dorothy Summers, aged 62, has been unaccounted for since her disappearance last Thursday, October 23.

It is believed that the missing woman might have traveled over 120 miles from her residence in Ayr after her sudden disappearance, which is described as completely out of character.

Dorothy Summers was last seen at her home in Whitletts, Ayr, around 9 AM on Thursday, October 23.

The 62-year-old is known to frequently use buses for local travel within Ayrshire, though she has previously made trips to Dundee.

Dorothy is described as a white female, standing 5 feet 1 inch tall, of medium build, with long, curly brown and grey hair.

Inspector Lorraine Scobie commented, “It is highly unusual for Dorothy to be away from home without maintaining regular contact with her family. They are deeply worried, and our priority is to locate her to ensure her safety.”

“As we continue our investigation and search efforts, I appeal to anyone who may have seen Dorothy or has any information about her current location to contact us. I also urge Dorothy herself to reach out to us if she sees this message.”

A spokesperson for Police Scotland stated, “We are seeking the public’s help in locating 62-year-old Dorothy Summers, who is reported missing from her Ayr home.”

“Dorothy was last observed in the Whitletts area at approximately 9 AM on Thursday, October 23, 2025.”
