The emergency response was initiated at 12.40pm on Thursday as the fire spread across a substantial expanse of grassland.
A significant wildfire has erupted on the Isle of Arran, close to a well-known hiking region.
Authorities have advised the public to steer clear of the areas around Glen Rosa and Glen Shant, including trails leading to Goatfell in the island’s northeast, due to the ongoing fire.
Fire services were alerted to the wildfire shortly after 12.40pm, and promptly dispatched three fire engines to manage the situation.
This incident follows an “extreme risk” wildfire alert issued for Thursday, April 10.
Fortunately, there have been no injuries reported in connection with the fire, and Scottish Fire and Rescue Service personnel are still on the scene.
A representative from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service reported: “We received a call at 12.42pm on Thursday, April 10, about a grass fire near Glen Rosa on Arran.
“Command Center sent three fire trucks to address a large grass fire covering an area about 600m x 600m.
“There have been no casualties reported, and our teams are still present at the location.”
Following the wildfire warnings, police have also called for public vigilance and advised against starting fires outdoors.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland stated: “At around 1pm on Thursday, April 10, we were informed about a wildfire on Arran, northwest of Brodick.
“The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service is managing the situation.
“The public is advised to avoid footpaths into Glen Rosa and also the paths leading to Goatfell.
“The public should avoid the roads and walking areas around Glen Rosa and Glen Shant on the Isle of Arran, due to the ongoing wildfire.
“As we enjoy the warm weather, the public is being urged to exercise caution if out and about in rural areas during the Easter holidays – and avoid lighting outdoor fires.
“Responsible behavior can significantly reduce the risk of a wildfire starting, so it is essential that everyone adheres to the Scottish Outdoor Access Code.
