Music maestro Mark Ronson recently experienced a mishap during his performance that left him a bit worse for wear.
Following a dynamic DJ set, the acclaimed artist, who has clinched nine Grammy Awards, disclosed that his enthusiasm while engaging with the audience led to the rupture of two bicep tendons.
“During a moment when the house PA was inadequate, I attempted to single-handedly pivot the stage monitor towards the audience mid-session to amplify their experience,” shared the 49-year-old in an Instagram update. “It turns out the monitors were heavier than I anticipated… Resulting in two torn bicep tendons and a completed gig nonetheless, here we are, baby!”
He also tagged his post with “#tornthisway,” a playful nod to the track Born This Way by his colleague Lady Gaga. Together, they co-wrote the award-winning song Shallow for the film A Star Is Born, earning Ronson an Oscar and two Grammy nods.
Ronson began his illustrious career as a DJ in New York City during the ’90s before rising to prominence as a sought-after producer. His career took a significant leap in 2006 when he won both Producer of the Year and Record of the Year at the Grammy Awards for his work on Amy Winehouse’s album Back to Black.
His collaborations span across well-known artists like Adele, Paul McCartney, and Dua Lipa. His major hit, Uptown Funk with Bruno Mars, has achieved 11x Platinum status.
Moreover, Ronson has made a name for himself in the film industry, recently serving as the executive producer for the soundtrack of the Barbie movie, which garnered him three additional Grammy Awards.
