Kirsty Buchan resigned from her teaching position at Bannerman High School in Glasgow after her controversial activities came to light.
A former teacher, ousted from her role after students discovered her OnlyFans account, is now facing allegations of owing over £60,000 in taxes.
Kirsty Buchan, who was a physics teacher, left her position at Bannerman High School in Glasgow after it became public that she was posting explicit images under the alias ‘Jessica Jackrabbit’. She marketed herself as a ‘good teacher gone bad’ boasting a ‘sexy tight body’.
Buchan claimed her venture into OnlyFans was driven by a salary dispute, revealing she had once earned £60,000 in a single month through the platform. However, her financial success has led to scrutiny from tax authorities, listing her as a deliberate tax defaulter in an HMRC ‘name and shame’ list.
According to officials, Buchan, originally from Carnbroe, Lanarkshire, neglected to pay £64,091.65, including tax and fines. She reportedly owes £38,902.37 in unpaid taxes and an additional £25,189.28 in penalties for the fiscal year 2022/23.
The list features over 160 individuals and businesses, ranging from a vape importer to property developers and online merchants. All listed parties have faced civil penalties but are not criminally charged for tax fraud.
Buchan disclosed to BBC Scotland News that she intends to settle any outstanding dues once disagreements over the total amount owed are resolved.
She stated, “I’m not evading the tax bill but am currently disputing the penalty charges and the final amount due. Once that’s resolved, I will settle any tax due.”
