Police Attacked 8 Times at TRNSMT: Officers Handle 43 Drug-Related Incidents

Police Scotland Shares Details on 124 Recorded Events at the Festival

During last month’s TRNSMT festival, police officers faced eight assaults while responding to 43 drug-related activities.

Information obtained through a Freedom of Information request indicated that 19 individuals were arrested at the Glasgow Green festival, featuring headliners such as 50 Cent, Biffy Clyro, and Snow Patrol.

The arrests were for various crimes including assaulting police officers, general assault, sexual offenses, reckless conduct, hate crimes, and carrying weapons.

The event, which spanned from July 11 to July 13, saw police managing a total of 124 incidents, according to the details released by Police Scotland.

Out of the eight assaults on police, five occurred on the festival’s first day. Additionally, there were 12 instances of assault on festival-goers reported.

Throughout the festival weekend, authorities handled 43 incidents involving the misuse of drugs ranging from Class A to Class C.

Two reports of sexual assault were filed during the festival. On July 11, one of the incidents involved an individual wearing attire associated with a banned terrorist group.

There were also two reported cases involving weapons; one person was found with a bladed weapon. On the final day, there were two reported cases of racially motivated misconduct.
