A well-known host of a late-night comedy show has recently fallen ill.
On her Instagram this past Friday, Taylor Tomlinson announced the need to postpone her forthcoming performances in several cities including Raleigh, Atlanta, Nashville, and Pittsburgh, stating that rescheduling was “necessary for my health.”
The ex-host of After Midnight expressed deep regret over the situation, commenting, “I’m truly so sorry. I dislike having to postpone shows, but under these circumstances, it’s unavoidable.” Tomlinson shared that her shows in Raleigh scheduled for Thursday and Friday, along with the 8 p.m. show in Atlanta on Saturday, and Sunday’s Nashville performance, are all postponed to February. Additionally, the Pittsburgh event originally slated for Friday, Nov. 14, will now take place on Jan. 11, while the 4 p.m. show in Atlanta on Saturday has been entirely canceled.
Currently, Tomlinson is touring with her Save Me Tour. Her next stage appearance is set for Nov. 21 and 22 in Washington, D.C., giving her some time to recuperate. She did not specify her health issue, but indicated it was serious enough to necessitate a week’s break from her tour. Many fellow comedians have shown their support in her Instagram comments, with Whitney Cummings advising, “Take care of you!” Anjelah Johnson-Reyes mentioned, “Said a prayer for you. Rest up,” and Tien Tran sent, “Sending you lots of love.”
Last weekend, Tomlinson disclosed that she had both recorded and directed her fourth comedy special during her show in Grand Rapids on Nov. 1. While the release date remains unannounced, it is expected to premiere on Netflix, joining her three previous specials: Quarter-Life Crisis in 2020, Look At You in 2022, and Have It All in 2024. Fans might anticipate the upcoming special to debut in 2026, following her usual release pattern.
Taylor Tomlinson also served as the host for CBS’s late-night comedy panel show After Midnight. However, she decided to leave the show to concentrate fully on her stand-up career, which led to the cancellation of the series in June. In her farewell address on the show, Tomlinson delivered an emotional monologue expressing her gratitude towards the show and its crew. Now, with her sharpened focus on stand-up and some necessary rest, Tomlinson is expected to return revitalized and ready to entertain her audience in Washington, D.C. in the coming weeks.
