Harry Hamlin Celebrates One Year of Sobriety

At the age of 73, Harry Hamlin, known for his roles in L.A. Law and Mad Men, has announced that he has been sober for a year.

He revealed this personal achievement during an episode of his wife Lisa Rinna’s podcast, Let’s Not Talk About the Husband, last Friday.

“Today marks one year,” he declared. “It wasn’t a monumental struggle, but I made the choice to quit drinking.”

Despite being an Emmy-nominated actor, Hamlin admitted that the temptation to drink is always present, particularly in the evenings or when he needs help falling asleep. Nevertheless, he described his journey to sobriety as “not difficult at all” and expressed great satisfaction with his decision.

“Quitting drinking can be a significant challenge for many,” he explained. “For me, it’s a decision I’m glad I made.”

Hamlin also noted that he has “lost a considerable amount of weight” since he stopped consuming alcohol. He credits some of his success to his participation in Alcoholics Anonymous during the 2010s.

“Everyone should try the program,” he suggested. “It was one of the best decisions I made, spending those four years in AA.”

Alongside his sobriety, Hamlin’s personal life includes his family with Lisa Rinna. They have two daughters, 27-year-old Delilah Belle and 24-year-old Amelia Gray. He also has a 45-year-old son named Dimitri from a previous relationship.
