On the day of the incident, Lynn was driving through Galashiels and had to pause his journey as he felt sick, but then continued driving.
A corporate leader, having previously consumed cocaine, was involved in a devastating three-vehicle collision that resulted in a fatality.
Christopher Lynn, 32, was driving his Ford Ranger pick-up when he rear-ended a Vauxhall Astra operated by Yvonne Nichol.
The impact propelled Nichol’s vehicle into an oncoming car. The 64-year-old tragically passed away following the collision on the A7 Edinburgh to Carlisle road near Ashkirk in the Scottish Borders on August 15, 2023.

Nichol’s front seat passenger and the driver of the Nissan were severely injured in the incident. Lynn, from Dalkeith, Midlothian, was later questioned by police and claimed he could not recall anything prior to the crash.
An initial claim that he had fallen asleep while driving was removed from the charge before his guilty plea was accepted.
Victoria Dow, defending, requested that Lynn’s bail be continued to address issues related to the family business. Lynn serves as a director of the company, with responsibilities in groundwork, fire protection, and health and safety.
