Scott Lewis Adams, 46, was presented before the Aberdeen Sheriff Court this past Thursday.
Scott Lewis Adams, 46, faced charges in Aberdeen Sheriff Court on a recent Thursday, accused of both murder and robbery at a flat in Aberdeen. Adams, a resident of Aberdeen, did not enter a plea.
He was detained and the case was adjourned for further investigation.
Adams is slated to make another court appearance within the following eight days.
The arrest follows the discovery of 25-year-old Austin Ironside, who was found with injuries in a Skene Street flat in Aberdeen around 3 PM on Sunday, August 3. He was urgently taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, where he sadly passed away two days later.
After a post-mortem examination, authorities declared Austin’s death suspicious and continue to investigate, following significant leads.
Austin Ironside was remembered fondly by his family and friends. In a statement released through Police Scotland, his family described him as a friendly figure known throughout the city, always ready to assist others, and known for his contagious smile and laughter which brightened the lives of those around him.
“We are utterly devastated by his loss and request privacy during this incredibly difficult time,” the family stated.
The investigation is currently being handled by the Major Investigation Team of Police Scotland.
A photo from the scene displayed the residential building cordoned off with police presence.
Following the announcement of his death, many took to social media to express their condolences and share memories of Austin.
Karen Thompson commented, “RIP Austin, you were a lovely lad, always nice when he came to visit my son.”
James Butler added, “R.I.P Austin (Ozzie, Fatty) Ironside. You were a top lad, will never forget the times we had, gone far too young, one of the best young lads around.”
Michelle Sweeney wrote, “Sleep tight Austin, you had a heart of gold.”
Julie Wood expressed, “Such a tragic loss for the family, a young life gone too soon. Rest in peace, and know your grandma, uncle, and many more family members will be waiting for you.”
