The entertainment world mourns the loss of acclaimed Hollywood actor Mel Novak, who has died at the age of 90.

According to his daughter, Nikol Conant, who spoke to TMZ, Novak passed away in a Southern California hospice last Wednesday due to natural causes.

A Career Defined by Memorable Antagonist Roles

Mel Novak made a significant mark in the film industry with his portrayal of villains, most notably as Stick in the 1978 Bruce Lee classic Game of Death. This film, famous for being Bruce Lee’s final project before his untimely death, featured Novak with his character’s signature matchstick in his mouth.

Novak’s extensive filmography includes pivotal roles in action-packed movies such as Truck Turner, a blaxploitation film starring Isaac Hayes, and several films with martial arts star Chuck Norris, including A Force of One and An Eye for an Eye. His last significant screen appearance was in the 2015 sequel Samurai Cop 2: Deadly Vengeance, which followed the 1991 cult classic action-comedy.
