Yet another British tourist has tragically died after a fall in a supermarket car park in Ibiza, occurring shortly after the death of Evan Thomson at the Ibiza Rocks Hotel due to a similar incident.
A British individual met a tragic end at an Ibiza resort after falling from the car park of the Mercadona supermarket, succumbing to injuries in the hospital.
The unfortunate event took place at approximately 8pm on Monday, July 14, with the man falling from the parking structure of the supermarket.
The 25-year-old was swiftly transported to the hospital by emergency services, arriving there around 9:30pm.
The Nuestra Senora del Rosario Polyclinic, where he was placed in intensive care, later announced with regret that, despite exhaustive efforts by the medical team, the man had passed away due to the grave nature of his injuries.
The Civil Guard has commenced an investigation to ascertain the details surrounding the incident.
Details such as the British man’s hometown, whether he was alone during the incident, or the specifics of the fall, including the height from which he fell, remain unclear.
This incident follows closely on the heels of another tragedy, where Scottish tourist Evan Thomson also lost his life after a fall at the Ibiza Rocks Hotel.
Emergency services were dispatched to the hotel on Monday, July 7, but Evan, hailing from Aberdeen, was declared deceased at the site.
The Spanish authorities are investigating this accident as well.
Evan’s mother, Lel Kellighan, expressed her profound sorrow on Facebook, announcing her son’s untimely demise earlier in the week due to a tragic accident while vacationing with friends in Ibiza.
April also witnessed the death of a 19-year-old Italian tourist of Turkish descent, who fell from the fourth floor, and the previous year in August, a Scottish teenager, Emma Ramsay, 19, from Hamilton, tragically died after falling from a sixth-floor hotel balcony in San Antonio.
The latter incident occurred at the seafront four-star adult-only Hotel Vibra District.
