A passenger aboard an easyJet flight reportedly relieved themselves in the aisle, prompting crew members to request police intervention upon landing as a group of passengers became disorderly.

The incident unfolded during a flight from Birmingham to Tenerife South early Wednesday, July 2nd. The flight was given priority to land on the Spanish island, touching down just before 3:30 am.

According to the Canarian Weekly, flight attendants sought “urgent assistance” due to “significant disturbance” aboard the aircraft. The airline later confirmed that the passengers involved had become “abusive and threatening.”

The police were already present when the plane landed in Tenerife, although it was not immediately clear if any arrests were made, as reported by the Mirror.

An easyJet representative stated: “We can confirm that flight EZY6607 from Birmingham to Tenerife on July 2nd was greeted by police upon arrival due to a group of passengers who exhibited disruptive behavior onboard.”

“Our crew are well-trained to manage a variety of situations effectively. They responded swiftly and appropriately to ensure that the safety of the flight and its passengers was maintained throughout. At easyJet, the safety and welfare of our passengers and crew is our top priority, and we do not condone abusive or threatening behavior on our flights,” added the spokesperson.

This incident comes shortly after a similar situation on an easyJet flight to Marrakech in May, which ended in chaos due to unruly British passengers on a stag party. Two individuals were reportedly vaping onboard, drinking excessively, and were verbally abusive towards the crew.

Despite receiving six warnings, their disruptive behavior continued, prompting the pilot to divert the flight to Faro, Portugal, much to the annoyance of other passengers.

A witness described the men as being “intoxicated or nearing intoxication at the time of boarding, vaping in their seats and the toilet, and consuming large amounts of alcohol. They also displayed abusive behavior towards the flight staff, including what seemed to be homophobic remarks directed at the head steward,” reported a witness.

An easyJet spokesperson confirmed that the flight, originally from London Gatwick to Marrakech on May 19, had to divert to Faro and was met by police due to passengers’ disruptive behavior. After the involved passengers disembarked, the flight continued to its final destination in Marrakech.

“Our cabin crew are trained to handle various situations and acted swiftly and appropriately to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all on board. At easyJet, we prioritize the safety and comfort of our passengers and crew and do not tolerate threatening or abusive behavior,” the spokesperson remarked.
