Following a serious incident at a high school, two youths were detained by the police and parents were quickly called to pick up their children.

Disorder erupted at a school when it was forced into lockdown due to a teacher being assaulted, which resulted in the detention of two teenagers.

The disruption began around 11:15 am on Thursday, as described by a student to Teesside Live: “During the third lesson, the lockdown alarms suddenly activated, and all classroom doors were automatically locked. Everyone was confused and started asking ‘what’s happening?'”.

“Next thing we knew, a teacher appeared with blood and tears on his face. It was horrifying. Suddenly everyone was scrambling to exit the school. Now, there are roughly 200 parents outside, anxiously waiting to retrieve their children,” added the student.

The Mirror reported that parents were urgently called to the Hartlepool secondary school to collect their children due to the incident. A bystander mentioned, “Children were crying, it’s quite a distressing scene.”

Many worried parents are currently outside the school, where several police cars can still be seen near Manor Community Academy.

Cleveland Police confirmed that a teacher had been attacked and two teenagers were now in custody. A spokesperson stated, “Police received a call at 11:30 am this Thursday to Manor Community College in Hartlepool following a report of a teacher being physically assaulted.
