Millie Bobby Brown’s promotional activities for the concluding season of Stranger Things have encountered some setbacks.
While the promotional campaign for the last season of the popular Netflix series progresses, Brown had to withdraw from a recent promotional event due to an injury.
Originally scheduled to appear on Good Morning America alongside co-star Noah Schnapp on Monday, Brown had to cancel after suffering a fall. She submitted a video to GMA in which she explained her absence and was seen wearing a sling. It is now reported that Brown will also miss an upcoming Stranger Things 5 event at the Paley Center in New York City this Thursday, as stated by PEOPLE.
“Regrettably, due to a recent injury, Millie is unable to participate in the carpet event or the panel discussion,” a representative for the Paley Center conveyed to the media. She isn’t the only cast member missing the event titled Stranger Things: The Final Season Celebration. The event’s spokesperson further confirmed that David Harbour would be absent due to a conflicting schedule. However, other cast members including Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Noah Schnapp, Caleb McLaughlin, and Maya Hawke are expected to be there.
The Stranger Things ensemble is busy promoting the series’ fifth and ultimate season. The promotion began with the release of Volume 1 on November 26, which included four episodes. Volume 2 is set to premiere on Christmas Day featuring three episodes at 8 p.m. ET on Netflix, and subsequently, Volume 3, the final episodes, will be available on New Year’s Eve at 8 p.m. ET on Netflix and in selected theaters. It remains uncertain whether Brown will continue to miss future promotional events as she recovers. However, given her effort to send a video explanation to GMA, she might still participate remotely in tonight’s panel.
Set in the autumn of 1987, Stranger Things 5 unfolds as Hawkins is disturbed by the emergence of the Rifts, prompting the protagonists to unite with a common objective: to locate and eliminate Vecna. Vecna has, however, disappeared, leaving his plans and location a mystery,” according to the official summary. “Their mission is further complicated by the government’s decision to place the town under military quarantine and intensify the search for Eleven, driving her back into hiding. As the anniversary of Will’s disappearance nears, a profound and familiar sense of dread grows. A final confrontation is imminent, along with a threat more formidable and lethal than any they have previously encountered. To conquer this nightmare, it will require the solidarity of the entire group, united for one last stand.”
