Two individuals were detained and property was damaged after a distressing event occurred around 11:20 PM on August 1, Friday evening.
An altercation erupted outside a local pub before a Mercedes forcefully drove into a gathering of people.
After the alarming episode near 11:20 PM on Friday, August 1, two individuals were apprehended, and the parking lot gate was severely damaged.
The police responded to a call at the Oxton Bar and Kitchen on Claughton Firs, Oxton, where an “active disturbance” was reported.
Authorities noted that two men tried to escape the pub parking in a Mercedes, which ended up causing “considerable damage” to the parking gate.
According to a report by the Mirror, one of these men was then involved in a physical altercation with another group, further escalating the tension.
The vehicle, still containing one suspect, was reportedly driven away and is believed to have hit several people. Police have confirmed that there have been no injuries reported as of now.
The other individual fled the scene on foot. The police managed to arrest two men, aged 21 and 26, both hailing from Wirral. The vehicle involved has also been recovered.
The 21-year-old is currently held on suspicion of s18 grievous bodily harm with intent, five counts of attempting to cause grievous bodily harm with intent, dangerous driving, driving while unfit due to alcohol, failing to stop after a road accident, and affray.
The 26-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of six counts of attempting to cause grievous bodily harm with intent, driving while unfit due to alcohol, failing to stop after a road accident, criminal damage, and affray.

Detective Inspector Sarah Wilkinson stated, “We believe the Oxton Bar and Kitchen was crowded last night, and many may have seen or been involved in the incident. Currently, no one has approached the police to report injuries.
“We are also making inquiries with local hospitals, but no victims have been identified yet. Anyone who was present at the bar that night and has information is urged to come forward and speak to us.”
