Madsen was discovered unresponsive at his Malibu residence on Thursday, July 3. His death was confirmed by his manager, who stated the cause was cardiac arrest.
Madsen’s illustrious career in Hollywood, spanning 40 years, saw him most famously in several Quentin Tarantino movies. His standout roles were in Kill Bill: Vol. 1, Reservoir Dogs, and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
His representatives mentioned that he was actively involved in upcoming film projects, having dedicated the last two years to independent cinema, according to the Mirror. These projects included titles like Resurrection Road, Concessions, and Cookbook for Southern Housewives.
His portrayal of Mr Blonde in Reservoir Dogs, a film celebrated for its modest budget and high impact, firmly established him in the annals of cinema history.
His chilling performance as the ruthless and volatile villain in the film also earned him a nomination by the American Film Institute for the greatest movie villains of all time list.
