On Dec. 5, the Princess of Wales put on her fifth annual Christmas carol service and surprised the congregation by joining her daughter, Princess Charlotte, for an impromptu piano duet.
According to PEOPLE, the event — staged at Westminster Abbey and later shown on the UK’s ITV on Dec. 24 at 2:25 p.m. ET — featured the mother-daughter pair at the piano performing “Holm Sound,” a piece by composer Erland Cooper. Present for the service were other members of the immediate family, including the Prince of Wales and their sons, Prince George, 12, and Prince Louis, 7.
The moment felt particularly poignant because several other relatives were in attendance: Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh; Zara Tindall and her husband Mike Tindall; Kate’s parents, Carole and Michael Middleton; and her brother James Middleton alongside his wife, Alizée Thevenet.
