Stamos’ wife, Caitlin McHugh Stamos, also commented, highlighting the limited preparation time he had for the role, which he took on the day after he returned from a tour in Spain with The Beach Boys. She praised him saying, “You’re not just a King, you’re a Super Human. Love you, so proud!!!”

Jesus Christ Superstar is a rock opera with music composed by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Tim Rice. The storyline is loosely based on the Gospel accounts of the Passion of Christ, focusing primarily on the dissatisfaction of Judas with the direction of Jesus’ teachings. The musical debuted in 1971 and was once the longest-running musical in London’s West End until it was surpassed by Cats in 1989.
