‘GMA’ Star’s Husband Claps Back: ‘Stop Asking for Family Updates, You’re Not Invited!’

By Emily Anderson

Ben Aaron, the spouse of Ginger Zee from Good Morning America, has decided to distinctly separate his professional and personal life, much to the dismay of some fans.

On a recent Wednesday, July 2, Ben uploaded a spirited video to Instagram where he directly addressed the curiosity surrounding his family life with Ginger Zee and their sons, Adrian and Miles. He firmly stated to his audience that his personal life was off-limits.

“I’m constantly asked why my Instagram activity is sparse. Frankly, I dislike Instagram,” he started in the video. “This account is solely for sharing the professional stories I cover on TV.”

In his message to his 125,000 followers, Aaron clarified that anyone hoping for a peek into his family affairs would be disappointed. Instead, he promised, “You’ll see extensive, detailed stories that really shouldn’t be on social media, about various people and places, and so on. That’s what you’ll find here. Stories that you might not bother watching.”

He continued, “You’re definitely not going to see romantic dinner photos with my wife, nor snapshots of my children, or any other private moments, because those are mine, and you are not part of that. So, brace yourself for lengthy eight-minute narratives about topics you might not care about… Consider this an Instagram account of minimal expectations and significant letdowns. Thanks for following.”

This video was released shortly after Zee herself had to confront the rampant speculation and false information circulating on social media. On Facebook, the GMA meteorologist lamented, “Fake profiles, false stories about me resigning, being pregnant, or even heading to war zones… this platform is quickly deteriorating… How can we make this better and ensure accurate information is as viral as the misinformation?”

Zee echoed her frustrations on Instagram as well, responding to an inquiry from a follower about the authenticity of the social media rumors, she forcefully dismissed them as “outright LIBEL. I am not pregnant, I am not quitting GMA, and @benaarontv and I are doing great. It seems these AI accounts earn money by spreading lies. Remember – if it didn’t come from me, it’s not true.”

Since their marriage in 2014, Zee and Aaron, who have welcomed two sons—Adrian in December 2015 and Miles in February 2018—have generally kept their personal lives private. While Zee has shared snippets of her home life occasionally, like her husband, she primarily focuses on her professional endeavors on social media.
