Glasgow Street Lockdown: Man Hospitalized After Brutal Early Morning Attack

Police were dispatched to Glasgow’s East End after a violent incident early Saturday morning.

A man has been hospitalized after being attacked in the early hours in Glasgow. Emergency services were called to Quarrybrae Street in the city’s East End early this morning (Saturday, March 7).


Following a report of a “serious assault”, an alarm was raised. A 29-year-old man was urgently transported to the hospital for medical attention, though his current health status remains undisclosed.


Police imposed a security perimeter and locked down the area around 1 AM. Investigations by the police are currently active and ongoing.


A local resident informed Glasgow Live that police have been conducting door-to-door inquiries following the incident. Photographs from the location depict a police van on site, with the area being cordoned off by law enforcement.

According to a Police Scotland spokesperson, “At around 1 AM on Saturday, March 7, we were alerted to a severe assault on a 29-year-old man on Quarrybrae Street, Glasgow.
