The Status of the Injured is Still Unclear
Two members of the National Guard have been wounded in a shooting incident close to the White House in Washington DC, with a suspect already apprehended by the authorities. The current health condition of the soldiers remains undisclosed, as reported by police sources.
Following the incident, emergency response teams were promptly dispatched to the scene. The Joint DC Task Force acknowledged their rapid response to a reported shooting near the White House, although they initially did not confirm whether the victims were National Guard members.
The Metropolitan Police Department is actively investigating the shooting but has yet to release further details. Meanwhile, a representative for Mayor Muriel Bowser has stated that city officials are closely following the developments of this case.
At the time of the shooting, President Donald Trump was at his golf course in West Palm Beach. The White House Press Secretary, Karoline Leavitt, informed the media, “The White House is conscious of and is closely monitoring this unfortunate event. President Trump has been apprised of the situation.”
