Jillian Monks, deeply concerned about her brother Greg, reported him missing today after he was last spotted in Albufeira, a popular nightlife hub.

Anxiety is mounting over the whereabouts of Greg Monks, a British tourist who disappeared just hours after arriving in the Algarve with friends on Tuesday for a holiday.

Today, his sister Jillian raised an alarm stating that Greg was last seen in Albufeira on his first evening in the resort. She described his disappearance as highly unusual.

On a local expat website in Albufeira, she posted: “My brother has been missing since Tuesday night. If anyone has seen him or has any information, please contact me.”

Alison Meechan Fraser, a resident of Hamilton, South Lanarkshire, confirmed that the 38-year-old has been officially reported missing and authorities are currently searching for him.

She explained: “He was enjoying a night out with his friends. All his companions have returned to their lodgings, but Greg has not been seen since late Tuesday or early Wednesday morning.”

Attempts to reach Portuguese authorities for a statement this afternoon were unsuccessful.

Other vacationers from Britain have seen Jillian’s plea for help and have pledged their support.
