The Fox News community is celebrating a joyful addition.
Fox News reporters Peter Doocy and Hillary Vaughn have recently become parents to their second child, a son they’ve named George Jack Doocy, who was born on Wednesday, April 16.
“Introducing George Jack Doocy!” the pair shared on Instagram, along with a series of charming photos showcasing their now family of four. The images featured their 2-year-old daughter Bridget getting acquainted with her new brother. George was born weighing 8 pounds, 11 ounces, and measuring 20.5 inches long after a 30-hour labor. His arrival coincided with the couple’s fourth wedding anniversary. “So, thanks to our son, I’ll always remember to pick up an anniversary card for your mom while I’m out getting your birthday card!” Peter Doocy joked.
After announcing their expectancy of a boy in December, Vaughn found herself at Capitol Hill covering the IRS for Tax Day. During a routine check-up that day, she learned that George “was ready to make his entrance.”
“Perhaps he was already over my tax talk, which I totally understand,” Vaughn, a Fox Business news correspondent, explained to PEOPLE. “Thirty hours of labor later, George made his grand debut. Luckily, Peter had already taken care of our taxes earlier in the year!”
Now adjusting to life with a newborn son, Vaughn, 35, and Doocy, 37, are learning the ropes. Vaughn humorously noted, “There’s definitely a learning curve – always stay alert during diaper changes, or you might get a surprise ‘baptism’!”
Their first child, Bridget, born in February 2023, has quickly taken to her role as big sister. Doocy, a senior White House correspondent, shared that she was the first to sing ‘Happy Birthday’ to him in the hospital.
The arrival of George has been a cause for celebration among their Fox News colleagues as well. Steve Doocy, co-host of Fox & Friends and Peter’s father, expressed his joy on Instagram, writing, “Congrats to Peter & Hillary on the birth of our third grandchild, George Jack Doocy. His sister Bridget couldn’t be more thrilled, and neither could Kathy and I.”
