Photographs from the event depict intense flames consuming the vehicle with large columns of dark smoke rising into the sky.
A vehicle caught fire on the M8, with fire services actively working to extinguish the flames.
The emergency response teams hurried to the scene of the blazing vehicle near the Hillington Interchange and Braehead Shopping Centre shortly after 1:35 pm on Thursday.
Photographs captured at the scene illustrate the vehicle being rapidly swallowed by fierce flames with vast smoke clouds billowing upwards.
At present, two fire engines along with a police vehicle are stationed at the location. The road has been closed to traffic as the firefighting efforts continue.
Fortunately, there have been no injuries reported from the incident.
A representative from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service reported, “We received an alert at 1.35pm on Thursday, 12 June, regarding a vehicle fire on the M8 near the Hillington Interchange.
“Our Operations Control deployed two appliances, and firefighters are on the scene working to put out the fire.
“There were no injuries reported, and one firefighting team is still at the scene,” the spokesperson added.
Police Scotland has been contacted for further comments.
