Early morning sees the blockade of Barclay House, Rockstar North’s premises in Edinburgh.
The headquarters of Rockstar North in Edinburgh was cordoned off following a reported ‘explosion’.
Emergency teams rushed to Barclay House on Holyrood Road right after 5 am on Monday, January 19, with fire services and police units responding to the emergency.
Reports suggest that there was an explosion inside the premises the previous day, prompting the arrival of emergency services early the next morning. Police reports later indicated that a fire had broken out following the explosion.
The full extent of the damage to the building remains unclear at this time.
Firefighting teams managed to stabilize the structure, which had sustained damage, and they departed from the location just after 9:20 am.
Fortunately, there were no injuries reported in the incident.
A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service stated, “We received a call at 5:02 am on Monday, January 19 to address an incident on Holyrood Road, Edinburgh. Our Operations Control deployed three fire engines along with specialized units to the scene, where firefighters tackled structural damages at a commercial facility.”
“There were no casualties, and our teams withdrew from the site by 9:21 am,” the spokesperson added.
Police Scotland also confirmed their presence, stating they were there to assist the fire service in managing the situation.
