Ex-Hibs Star’s Shocking Violence: Strangled Girlfriend, Hit Her with Bottle in Abuse Spree

By Benjamin Harrison

Jordon Forster was convicted of physically assaulting his former girlfriend, Jade Steven, over a five-year period.

A past football player for Hibernian FC, Jordon Forster, engaged in a relentless abusive relationship with his partner, which included hitting her with a bottle.

Now 31, Forster was found guilty of committing violent acts against Jade Steven, which involved slamming her against a wall, strangling her, and hitting her with a bottle during a heated altercation in her apartment.

Throughout their tumultuous relationship, Forster frequently destroyed property during intense disputes, often belittled her with insulting remarks, and sought to dictate her choices in attire and diet.

The former defender, standing at 6 feet 2 inches, was also found guilty of racially abusing and physically assaulting a child by pushing him, causing the child to fall.

Despite denying all accusations, Forster was convicted by a jury at the Edinburgh Sheriff Court for five criminal acts committed between 2016 and 2021 after a six-day trial.

Jade, now 35, recounted in court how she met Forster in a nightclub in Edinburgh’s city center in 2015 when he was a player for Hibernian. He moved into her apartment shortly after they met.

She described the relationship as rapidly deteriorating into a hostile and abusive ordeal, with Forster frequently resorting to aggression and derogatory name-calling, such as labeling her “a fat s**g.”

Jade detailed several instances where Forster lost control, resulting in broken dishes and damaged walls within her apartment.

During her testimony, she revealed multiple assaults, including one where Forster struck her head with a bottle during a fierce dispute in her Edinburgh residence.

She also recalled another severe incident where Forster pinned her against a wall, choking her by compressing her neck.

Jade characterized Forster as “unpredictable” and “nasty,” noting his tendency to dominate their relationship.

She shared with the court how she used makeup to cover bruises and described life with him during the 2020 lockdown as “the worst time of my life.”

The jury declared the assault charges against Forster as causing actual bodily injury and posing a danger to Jade’s life.

Forster, who now works as a courier driver, admitted to the court that although he and Jade had arguments, he denied hitting her with a bottle. He claimed instead that he accidentally struck her with a plastic milk carton after she grabbed his arm during an argument. He also denied assaulting a child.

After the verdict, Sheriff Christopher Dickson allowed Forster to remain on bail, postponing sentencing until the following month.

Previously, Forster was also found guilty of abusive behavior towards another ex-partner, Alicia Dyet, in July 2023. He admitted to acting aggressively, showing up at her home and workplace uninvited, and accessing her phone without consent.

His abuse towards Ms. Dyet included physical aggression, such as grabbing her arm, restraining her, and throwing her on a bed, over a period of seven months.

For his actions, he was prohibited from contacting Ms. Dyet for ten years and was mandated to participate in the Caledonian Men’s Programme, a domestic abuse intervention. Additionally, he was sentenced to 200 hours of unpaid work and placed under supervision for two years.

Forster had a notable football career, playing 79 times for Hibernian and scoring six goals from 2012 to 2017, plus various loan spells at other clubs including Berwick Rangers, East Fife, Plymouth Argyle, Cheltenham Town, and Dundee. He later joined Scottish League One team Kelty Hearts and subsequently signed with Lowland League club Tranent Juniors, who terminated his contract following his 2023 conviction.
