Erin Andrews Thrives Post-‘Dancing With The Stars’

Erin Andrews is proving that life after Dancing With The Stars can be rewarding. Having co-hosted the popular dance competition show from 2014 to 2019 alongside Tom Bergeron, both of whom were replaced, she has successfully continued her career in sports broadcasting.

Andrews has recently reaffirmed her commitment to Fox Sports by signing a new agreement to maintain her position as the primary sideline reporter for their NFL broadcasts.

Renewed Contracts and Continued Partnerships

Alongside her colleague and friend Charissa Thompson, with whom she co-hosts the podcast The Calm Down with Erin and Charissa, Andrews is set for an extended stay at Fox Sports. The duo has inked “lucrative” contract extensions as reported by Front Office Sports. While Andrews covers the games from the sidelines, Thompson leads the pre-game discussions for Fox and Amazon’s NFL shows.

An announcement from NFL on Fox showcased a graphic that featured Andrews amongst other notable figures like Tom Brady, Kevin Burkhardt, and Tom Rinaldi, solidifying her role in the upcoming NFL season.

Changes and Departures at Fox NFL

Even though Andrews and Thompson are secure in their positions, Fox’s NFL programming is experiencing some significant shifts.

Jimmy Johnson, the former Cowboys coach and long-time broadcaster, has decided to retire from his TV career at the age of 81 as of last March. Additionally, Laura Okmin, a veteran sports reporter with one of the longest careers in NFL media, has opted to leave Fox. She declined a renewal of her contract to focus on her new venture, GALvanize, which aims to train and support upcoming female sports reporters.

With these changes, the upcoming NFL season on Fox is shaping up to be a landmark one. The network is scheduled to host 11 doubleheaders, a record number for any NFL television partner.
