Everyone has at least one good story or poem inside them, and sharing yours could be financially rewarding.
Chicken Soup for the Soul is currently inviting submissions of stories and poems for future publications. If your work is selected, you will be compensated with $250.
In the early 1990s, two motivational speakers compiled a collection of uplifting stories into a book.
The title, Chicken Soup for the Soul, was inspired by the comforting and healing qualities of homemade soup, similar to that made by their grandmothers, as mentioned on their website.
Over time, the brand has grown significantly, publishing over 275 titles in the Chicken Soup for the Soul series, with more than 500 million copies sold globally. The books cover a range of themes including faith, parenting, and pets.

Submission Guidelines for Stories
Your story should be factual as the publisher does not accept fiction or creative writing essays.
Submission Guidelines for Poems
For poems, the submission guidelines are slightly more flexible. However, your poem should still be original and unpublished.
How to Submit Your Work
Submitting your piece is straightforward. Visit ChickenSoup.com, click on “Submit Your Story” at the top left, fill in the online form, upload your story or poem, and press “Submit.”
You will see a confirmation on your screen once your submission has been received. That’s all there is to it!
However, the hardest part might be waiting for a response, as the publisher explains on their website that they receive thousands of submissions for each book but can only include 101 pieces. They ask for your patience and understanding if you do not hear back immediately.
If your submission is chosen, you’ll be contacted via email for explicit consent to publish your work. Plus, one month after the book’s publication, you will receive 10 copies of the book along with a $250 check.
If you feel inspired to share your experiences, it’s time to start writing.
