Brian Williams’ Personal Life: Exclusive Insights Revealed!

By Emily Anderson

Brian Williams exemplifies the role of a dedicated grandfather. His daughter, the actress Allison Williams, openly discussed the deep connection Brian has with her young son, Arlo.

Allison married Alexander Dreymond in a private ceremony, which was publicly confirmed in January of this year.

During a recent promotional interview on Today for her new movie, Megan 2.0, host Savannah Guthrie commented to Allison, “I hear he’s fully embracing his role as a grandpa with little Arlo right now.” Allison responded enthusiastically, praising her father’s grandparenting skills. “He’s an absolutely amazing grandfather. They’re incredibly involved. Just last night, both of my parents were there, participating in his whole bedtime routine. I feel incredibly fortunate. It truly does take a village. Living so closely to them allows us to have a genuine, close-knit, multi-generational caregiving experience. I’m extremely grateful for that.”

Guthrie was curious about what Arlo calls his grandfather. “What does he call him? I remember calling him B-Dubs.” Allison chuckled and replied, “It’s close. He calls him Bub. And Arlo tries to say it as Bububub. He’s only three, so he’s still getting the hang of it.”

Like her father, Allison tends to keep her personal life very private. Nevertheless, she recently shared her harrowing experience during Arlo’s birth.

Speaking with Amanda Hirsch on the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast, Allison recounted the stressful birth. “As soon as I got there, his heart rate started dropping. It was incredibly traumatic,” she described the tense moments before an unplanned surgical procedure. “It was profoundly stressful. At that moment, I realized I hadn’t even considered the possibility of needing a C-section.”

About her birth expectations, she continued, “I hadn’t envisioned it, hadn’t really thought about what it would be like. I was like, ‘Blah blah blah, I’ve never had surgery, I don’t want to think about this.’ And so, I didn’t.”

“That was a terrifying realization when I understood that I was about to undergo surgery for the first time,” she explained further. “It all felt incredibly frightening and far from what I had imagined. When they told me it was happening, I was overwhelmed with thoughts like, ‘What’s going to happen to me? What will this be like? What does this mean?’ If I had known some of these answers beforehand, maybe I would have just been processing thoughts like, ‘This isn’t what I envisioned,’ or ‘I’m scared,’ or ‘This feels vulnerable.’
