Renowned singer, Broadway sensation, and television star Jane Morgan Weintraub, professionally known as Jane Morgan, has passed away at the age of 101.

Her death occurred naturally last Monday in Naples, Florida. Her family announced her passing, stating, “Our beloved Jane departed this world peacefully while asleep.”

Throughout the 1950s, 60s, and 70s, Morgan was a familiar face on television, making numerous appearances. A notable highlight was her performance on The Johnny Cash Show, where she sang “A Girl Named Johnny Cash” right after Cash’s rendition of “A Boy Named Sue.” Her song enjoyed considerable success on the radio.

Jane Morgan made history with her frequent visits to The Ed Sullivan Show, appearing a record 50 times – more than any other female singer on the program.

Her most renowned single, “Fascination,” was released in 1957 and featured in the Audrey Hepburn film Love in the Afternoon. It climbed into the top 10 hits and continues to appear in films and TV series. Most recently, it was included in the soundtrack for the Amazon Prime adaptation of Fallout.

Morgan’s Broadway career was equally illustrious. She graced the stage in the 1957 revival of Ziegfield Follies, appeared on The Jack Benny Show in 1963, and starred in the title role of Mame from 1968-69.

In 1962, Morgan appointed Jerry Weintraub as her manager. Weintraub went on to manage major music icons like Elvis Presley and John Denver and became a prominent Hollywood producer with credits including Ocean’s Eleven and The Karate Kid.

After marrying Weintraub in 1965, Morgan became a stepmother to his son Michael, and together they adopted three daughters: Julie, Jamie, and Jody.

In recognition of her contributions to entertainment, Jane Morgan was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2011.

She leaves behind her stepson Michael, and two daughters, Jamie and Jody.
