Emergency services swiftly responded to the scene earlier today.
A road near a shopping center in Edinburgh was closed due to a vehicular accident.
Emergency teams were dispatched to Gyle Avenue on the morning of Monday, February 16, around 11:10am following reports of a single-vehicle crash, as stated by Edinburgh Live.
The condition of those involved in the incident has not been confirmed, however, an ambulance is currently at the scene.
Authorities have sealed off the primary access road to the Gyle Shopping Centre.
A photograph reveals the police barrier, featuring three patrol cars and several officers present at the location.
According to a witness speaking to Edinburgh Live, “It was quite shocking to witness the huge disturbance outside the centre. There was an ambulance, numerous police units, and the main road has also been closed, causing bus reroutes through the Gyle.”
“The main roundabout into the Gyle Centre’s core is closed off, and traffic from the car park is being carefully managed to exit,” added the witness.
Unverified reports suggested that a person was seen receiving CPR by the roadside. Another observer commented, “It looked severe.”
The crash has led to significant transportation delays with several bus services including routes 12, 18, 21, 22, 36, and 71 being rerouted in the vicinity, as per Lothian Buses.
A representative from Police Scotland stated, “At approximately 11:10am on Monday, 16 February, we received a call concerning a collision involving a single vehicle on Gyle Avenue, Edinburgh. Emergency services are currently on site.”
