Breaking News: Ex-‘Total Divas’ Star Hangs Up Wrestling Boots: Career Ends in Surprise Retirement!

Sonya Deville does not foresee a return to wrestling anytime soon. The ex-WWE star previously clinched the Women’s Tag Team championship title.

In 2015, she inked a developmental contract with WWE but after ten years, she has shifted her focus to new ventures.

During a recent interview, she humorously remarked on her departure, “It’s such a typical thing to hear because everyone says, ‘Yeah, I’m done,’ just like Ric Flair who has retired countless times,” she chuckled. “But for now, it’s definitive for me, although you never know. At the moment, though, I’m content with where I am.”

Deville expressed uncertainty about wrestling for another organization, “It feels a bit raw to even consider. I’ve been incredibly loyal to WWE, it was my home from when I was 21 until I was 31. I’m generally loyal by nature, so the idea of being elsewhere feels strange,” she admitted.

Deville acknowledged her training was exclusively handled by WWE, which was her first professional wrestling experience, fostering a deep sense of loyalty towards them. “That loyalty still influences my thoughts today,” she noted. “I’m not sure what lies ahead, but I’m confident and feel genuine about the current direction of my life,” she added.

Upon leaving WWE, Deville was in the midst of discussing a new contract. Presently, she is involved in a film project in Los Angeles. Acting has always been her first love, evidenced by a tattoo of the Hollywood sign on her forearm.

“Acting was my initial dream…I was utterly fascinated by it. That was my aspiration before I got involved with MMA, which was what I was pursuing when WWE discovered me,” she shared.
