Intensive Necropolis Search Launched Following Woman’s Disappearance
A search for a missing woman from Dunoon has tragically led to the discovery of a body in a well-known cemetery in Glasgow.
Last night at approximately 8.45pm, police launched a critical search operation in the Necropolis located on Castle Street in Glasgow.
The search began shortly after reports emerged that the woman had gone missing from Dunoon earlier in the evening.
The remains were found within the confines of this historic burial site, which dates back to the Victorian era.
According to the police, there are currently no suspicious circumstances surrounding the woman’s death.
A formal report will be filed with the Procurator Fiscal for further examination.
A spokesman for Police Scotland stated: “Around 8.45pm on Wednesday, 9 July 2025, the body of a woman was recovered at the Glasgow Necropolis, Castle Street, Glasgow.”
“The woman was reported missing from Dunoon earlier that evening.”
“Preliminary investigations indicate that there are no suspicious circumstances related to her death. A detailed report will be forwarded to the Procurator Fiscal.”
