Renowned Actress Paula Shaw Passes Away at 84
Paula Shaw, renowned for her numerous roles in Hallmark movies and shows, has passed away at the age of 84.
The announcement of her death was made on her personal website, The Max, stating, “We are deeply saddened to inform you that Paula left us peacefully on the morning of Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at 9:00 am. Through her groundbreaking work with The MAX, Mastery programs, and her transformational initiatives, Paula impacted myriad lives. Her spirit will continue to inspire through the communities she fostered and the individuals she has profoundly influenced.”
The statement on The Max also invited those who knew her to share their memories on a dedicated memorial page.
Paula Shaw’s Illustrious Career
Paula Shaw’s journey in the performing arts began with her role in Gus Weill’s play Geese. This early experience paved her way to prestigious platforms like The Actors Studio and the improvisational group Synergy Trust, enhancing her opportunities in television and film.
During her 30s, Shaw made appearances on popular television series including Three’s Company, The Bob Newhart Show, Starsky & Hutch, and Little House on the Prairie. Her career escalated when she acted alongside celebrities Burt Reynolds and Dolly Parton in the film The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas. In 2003, she took on the iconic role of Pamela Voorhees, Jason’s mother, in the Jason series, appearing in Freddy vs. Jason. However, Shaw was most cherished for her regular appearances in Hallmark’s beloved holiday films and her role as Charlotte Jeffers in the series Cedar Cove.
