The 52-year-old defendant did not enter a plea and was released on bail after his court appearance today.
A man was brought before the court following an attempt on a police officer’s life near a local shop.
Dominic Gallagher, a resident of Clydebank, faced charges at the Paisley Sheriff Court including three counts of attempted murder, possession of an offensive weapon, damage to property, and resisting arrest.
Appearing in court on Monday, July 21, 52-year-old Gallagher made no plea. The proceedings were adjourned for further investigation, and he was subsequently released on bail. The date for his next court appearance has not been determined yet.
Emergency response teams were dispatched to a bar on Glasgow Road in the West Dunbartonshire town shortly after 9:25 pm on Friday, July 18, following reports of a man armed with a weapon outside the venue. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported from the incident.
Detective Inspector Kevin Mulvenna previously stated, “We are conducting thorough enquiries, and I encourage anyone who was near the area at that time to come forward. We believe the incident was recorded by bystanders, and I urge those individuals to contact us and provide the footage. Anyone with information can reach out to Police Scotland on 101, referencing incident 3915 of July 18.”
