By Emily Anderson

Sarah Paulson recently reflected on her cherished memories with the late Diane Keaton, expressing her sentiments during a heartfelt homage.

While addressing the audience at The Hollywood Reporter‘s Women in Entertainment gala, held on a Wednesday nearly two months following Keaton’s death from pneumonia on October 11 at the age of 79, the 50-year-old star of All’s Fair paid tribute to her friend and former co-star.

Paulson shared with the attendees, as reported by E! News, “Attending today felt like an opportunity to reconnect with her. It allowed me to revisit our past communications, diving into old emails and voicemails I had saved.”

Paulson then proceeded to share some of the memorable and humorous emails from Keaton, her co-star from The Other Sister.

Reading one, she said, “Sarah, I detest your phone. It’s perpetually full, and I can never get through to leave a message. What’s your address, moron? Get back soon, you sucker idiot. Diane.”

In another message, Keaton inquired, “How are you? I want all the details. When will you be back? You sent me an email not long ago, but it’s disappeared. Don’t ask why. Don’t ask what I did. I’ve been a loser forever.”

Paulson also shared more poignant messages, including one from Keaton that expressed, “I want to be updated about everything in your life—your career, your love life, your damn house. When will you be home? Love you, my special one. Keep me updated on everything. Diane, one of your friends.”

She concluded her tribute with “an email I wish I could send to her today.”

Through tears, Paulson read, “Dear dummy, I regret that my voicemail was always full. I’m sorry I wasn’t there every time you tried to reach me. I want to tell you how much bleaker the world feels without you. I want to share everything that has happened in the 54 days since you left us.”

The American Horror Story actress continued, “I want to tell you about the global outpouring of sorrow on the day you passed away. And I want to tell you that I’ll miss you forever.”

With a light-hearted twist, she added, “I’m still a moron, and I’m sure you’d be amused to hear that,” before concluding, “But above all, I just want to say thank you. Thank you for being my friend. Sarah Paulson, actress. Please call.”
