Two ardent Oasis fans have invested about £10,000 to cross the Atlantic and realize a dream they’ve harbored for 30 years.

Andrew Wadhams, 39, and Alicia Diaz, 41, traveled from New York to witness the Gallagher brothers perform in Edinburgh on Friday, August 8, marking their first show in the city since 2009.

The couple has dedicated a significant sum to fulfill Andrew’s long-held aspiration to experience the iconic Britpop band live in the UK, ever since he first fell in love with their music in 1995.

Andrew stated, “The moment they announced their return, I was determined not to miss it. I woke up at two in the morning to buy tickets.

“The tickets cost about £400, the hotel was £2000, and flights were around £1500. We’re planning to spend a week here, after which we’ll visit London for the first time. The total expense has come to about £10,000.

“I’ve been a fan of Oasis since fifth grade, around 1995. I used to spend countless nights watching all their videos. Seeing Oasis perform in the UK has always been a dream of mine.

“I managed to see them during their last tour in the US, but unfortunately, Liam’s vocals weren’t at their best then, so seeing them now, rejuvenated, is fantastic.”

They are among many others who have journeyed to Scotland from various parts of the world to attend one of the band’s three concerts at Murrayfield this weekend.

The superfans mentioned they will return home at 8am tomorrow and will spend the night at the airport. Gon al noted, “Every penny spent is worth it to watch the Gallagher brothers perform live.”

He added, “We’ve been huge fans of Oasis since our youth. My father was especially a big fan during the 90s.

“When we heard they were making a comeback, we immediately queued on Ticketmaster and decided that Edinburgh was the optimal concert venue, so we flew here yesterday morning from Barcelona airport.”

While their father waits for the stadium doors to open, Gon al and his sister are in line for merchandise. He mentioned that they have already spent around €800 (£693) on merchandise, including t-shirts, bucket hats, and posters.

Gon al is optimistic about Oasis touring in Spain next year, saying, “If they perform in Madrid, we will definitely try to get tickets.”
