Lewis Capaldi has recently returned to the music industry spotlight with a chart-topping single ‘Survive,’ an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, and a tour that sold out swiftly. Now, he’s giving something back in a unique way.

Just last week, additional dates were added to Capaldi’s much-anticipated UK and Ireland arena tour due to high demand, and these too sold out in moments. The singer then decided to add seven more dates, stating it was the maximum he could do without overextending himself too early in his comeback.

However, for those who missed out on securing tickets to his return performances, there’s still a chance to see him live. On a Tuesday night, he announced via Instagram that he is offering fans the opportunity to win a free pair of premium tickets to his sold-out tour.

To win, fans need to dress up as Capaldi and visit one of five selected Greggs locations across the UK. However, only 25 pairs of tickets are available and it’s a first-come, first-served basis.

But be quick – there are only 25 pairs available and they will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis.

Greggs’ official social media page urges: “Head to one of five designated Greggs stores in your finest Capaldi costume to have a shot at securing these exclusive tickets.”

“With only 25 pairs available at each location, those who best embody Lewis’ distinctive style will be allowed to queue and compete for a ticket…”

Fittingly, the contest begins in Capaldi’s birthplace of Glasgow on Tuesday, July 22, at 6pm. The Greggs on 393 Sauchiehall Street is expected to be swamped with hopefuls dressed as the singer, eager to watch his live performance.

Capaldi will perform four dates in Scotland this upcoming September, with two shows at Aberdeen’s P&J Live on September 10 and 11, and two more at Glasgow’s OVO Hydro on September 13 and 14.

Additional lookalike competitions will take place at Salford’s Gregg branch on the same day as the Glasgow event, followed by appearances at Leicester Square in London and the Bullring Shopping Centre in Birmingham on Wednesday, July 23 from 6pm.

The final chance for fans will be at Meadowhall Retail Park Drive Thru in Sheffield on Thursday, July 24 from 6pm.

Participants could be seen wearing anything from Lewis’ signature black trousers and white t-shirt, to his American flag outfit from when his hit ‘Someone You Loved’ topped the US charts in 2019.

Subsequently, Capaldi humorously declared himself “America’s sweetheart.”

Capaldi’s followers are already thrilled about his decision to partner with the popular eatery, famous for its sausage rolls and Yum Yums.

One admirer commented: “Capaldi cosplay AND Greggs? This is the most iconic British combo since tea met biscuits”.
