A flight originating from New York’s Newark Liberty International Airport, destined for Copenhagen Airport in Denmark, was rerouted to Edinburgh Airport following an in-flight emergency.

The flight operated by Scandinavian Airlines left the United States on Saturday, July 26 at 7.58 PM, departing nearly three hours later than its scheduled time.

Although the intended destination for flight SK910 was Denmark, it was redirected to Edinburgh, where it landed at approximately 6.27 AM, as reported by Edinburgh Live.

Social media sources indicated that the aircraft was broadcasting a squawk code of 7700, which alerts air traffic control to a general emergency on the plane.

The specific details regarding the nature of the in-flight emergency have not been disclosed at this time.
