Breaking News: Actor Suliman Eid Dead at 63 After Sudden Health Crisis

The renowned Egyptian actor Suleiman Eid has passed away.

Renowned for his performances in movies such as Africano and 30 Years Ago, Eid died early Friday at the age of 64. Reports indicate that he experienced a severe health emergency and died shortly after being admitted to a hospital, as per Cairo Scene. Al-Ahram Gate, a website run by the Egyptian government, reported that Eid had a heart attack.

The news of his passing was shared in a heart-wrenching message by his son, Abdo Soliman Eid, on Facebook, stating, “We belong to Allah and to Him we shall return. My father is now in God’s care.” He added in another post, “I am heartbroken, dad, but I find solace in knowing you are in the best place possible, under God’s care, who loves you more than anyone else could. This knowledge helps ease my pain. I love you, my rock, my support. I miss you terribly.”

Eid was a versatile actor and comedian whose extensive career covered film, television, and theater. Born on October 17, 1968, according to regional sources, Eid embarked on his acting journey in the late 1980s, debuting in the TV series Backiza and Zaghloul in 1986. His major breakthrough came in 1992 when he played a guard in the political satire Terrorism and Kebab, which starred the legendary Adel Imam, as per his IMDb page.

Throughout his career, he accrued over 150 acting credits in works like Tuyoor el-Zalam, The Student Cop, Harb Atalia, Birds of Darkness, Sleep in Honey, and Hammam in Amsterdam. His last role was in the 2025 movie Siko Siko.

In reflection of Eid’s illustrious career, the Egyptian Minister of Culture Ahmed Fouad Heno expressed, “A notable artist has departed, leaving behind a legacy that brought immense joy and laughter, touching the hearts of many. With his natural charm and effortless portrayal of the Egyptian folk character, he captured the essence of simplicity and became an endearing figure to his audience.”

Several of Eid’s peers in the entertainment sector also expressed their condolences, with Ahmed Elsaka noting on Facebook, “Farewell, my friend, my lifelong companion, one of the gentlest souls blessed by God.”
