Suits actor loses more than $200,000 in home burglary

By Emily Anderson

Actress Gina Torres reported that thieves made off with more than $225,000 worth of cash and jewelry after two intruders broke into her residence in Los Angeles’ San Fernando Valley on Friday.

The Suits alum — widely recognized for portraying Jessica Pearson on the legal drama — was not at home when the break-in occurred, police told NBC4.

Los Angeles Police Department dispatchers received a call about the burglary at approximately 7:10 p.m. on Friday. When officers arrived, they found broken windows and determined that a substantial amount of jewelry and cash had been taken.

According to investigators, two men were seen leaving Torres’ home carrying bags; a nearby neighbor reported seeing the suspects get into a white sedan and drive away. No arrests had been reported as of Tuesday, and detectives continue to investigate the incident.

Torres, who also gained attention for roles on Firefly and 9-1-1: Lone Star, is currently appearing in a recurring part on Fox’s Memory of a Killer. That series is adapted from the 2003 Belgian film De Zaak Alzheimer and follows Patrick Dempsey’s character, Angelo Doyle, a hitman juggling a dangerous double life while coping with an early-onset Alzheimer’s diagnosis.

In Memory of a Killer, Torres portrays Linda Grant, a determined and experienced FBI agent whose investigation into one of Angelo’s victims puts her on a direct path toward him.

The show’s ensemble cast also includes Michael Imperioli, Richard Harmon, Odeya Rush, Daniel David Stewart and Peter Gadiot.

Memory of a Killer airs on FOX on Mondays at 9 p.m. ET, with new episodes available to stream the following day on Hulu.
